Winter Solstice Celebration – 20th December 2018

Big thanks to everyone who came to support our Benefit yoga celebration last Thursday! It was a lovely day… Breathing in unison as we practiced yoga asana, singing our hearts out and eating delicious vegan food… ❤️🥰❤️
We raised 200 euros in donations so after giving some to Orgiva Consciente, we will send 175 to ‘People not borders’ (UK charity) who do lots of great work to help refugees🙏
Heres a couple of photos of the day to give you an idea… Thanks also for your great ideas of how to continue with the project.. We look forward to their fruition and are always open to more suggestions of how we can bring the gift of yoga to groups of people who may not have had the opportunity to try… Seasonal warm wishes and happy new year to all our members…

Really looking forward to singing with these lovely Bhakti musicians again at our winter solstice event- 2oth December ’18

Bhakti kirtan with Bhavana… An amazing sound experience…
Bhavana’s kirtans, like their own voices and music, are dynamic and colourful, serving up a full range of chants, easy to follow and join in, for a powerful experience that takes you to the essential stillness inside…
…You are welcome to join in with the devotional singing or just to listen to the music and bathe in the healing sound vibration…

Exiting new developments…

Namaste Yogis🙏

Our good friend, Avadhuta Yogi, is planning a long term, United World Yoga Trust camp in Himachal Pradesh, Himalaya, India… When the heavy monsoon weather is over he will be travelling to buy some comfortable tents and has already been donated a beautiful piece of land to use.
It will take some time for him to set this up but when up and running, of course, all Trust members will be welcome…
Watch this space to keep up to date with this and other movements we will be involved in and sharing asap…

Thankyou…

Thanks to lovely Kyla Williams for donating these yoga mats to our Yoga Trust! We have an idea to take a load of mats to a refugee camp somewhere where we can find a translator and offer a week of intensive yoga workshops… Aimed at teaching some of these amazing, brave souls who have made such an incredible journey a simple, self practice that can offer them some peace within the turbulence of life. We can then leave the mats with them to continue if they choose…
I visited Calais jungle camp last year and met some of these great people but unfortunately the camp there has been disbursed so we are looking for suggestions of a suitable hub of refugees who we could make this service available to…?
Somewhere fairly near to UK or Spain would be ideal to keep expenses down… PLEASE share any ideas you have about this…? Thanks ❤️

International Yoga Day in Orgiva, Spain…

Such a beautiful day in Orgiva last Thursday 21st June! So many amazing teachers came to inspire and share direct experience of their chosen yoga path for free… Thanks so much to all of you and to all those who generously bought amazing food to share or helped out in other ways… Also to all the lovely students for their openness, enthusiasm and support. We received 570 euros in donations which will all go to fund more free yoga events… Taking yoga out into communities where it can make a real difference in peoples lives…

For ideas about this please share your thoughts on our contact page… A lovely day was had by everyone and heres some photos to give you an idea…

My dear God brother and representative of Sri Dadaji maharaj would have joined us for international yoga day celebration but unfortunately didn’t get his visa in time. He wrote this message to all participants…

My dear brothers and sisters! Namaste to you and Namaskar to the sacred land where all of you want to learn about Vedic yoga. I’m extremely sorry that I can’t participate in this holy gathering. I think some of you are already following spiritual leaders. Today we have gathered here in the name of Shree Yogiraj Barfani Dadaji Maharaj so I would like to pass the blessings of Shree Dadaji Maharaj for the wellness of all of you. I wish that we will meet each other very soon… May God fulfilled all your wishes!’

Gracias, Neeraj Tripathi. (Servant of Shree Dadaji)

Jai Sri Barfani Dadaji Maharaj!

Sri Dadaji asked us to start this United World Yoga Trust project… See Our Roots page for details…

Self enquiry with Arnold Timmerman – Orgiva @ 2pm

Satsang means ‘in the company of truth’. Satsang is a form of yoga that uses the mind to inquire into its own nature and to transcend the mind’s identification with its thoughts and ego. In this hour of satsang you will be handed useful insights and tools to find your way home to the essence of who you truly are.
Arnold Timmerman has been living in Orgiva with his family since 2013 and has been giving satsang locally since 2014. He works internationally as a presenter for The Journey (a self-inquiry and healing method that finds its origin in Ramana Maharshi’s teachings), has written and published 3 books, invented his own self-development method called Dogma Detox and works as a coach-therapist and change consultant in Spain and abroad.

Leonie has been a dedicated Yoga practitioner for nearly 20 years and teaching for 5. She teaches regular, drop in and private Classes in Orgiva, Andalucia, and retreats and workshops in Spain and UK. She has 200 hours Yoga alliance accredited training from Shiva Yoga Peeth in Rishikesh, India.
Her main influence, who’s daily Pure Yoga and meditation practice she has been following for the last 10 years is Swami Purohit (http://www.swamipurohit.com) An amazing, enlightened Himalayan Yoga Master, now living in Granada. She ongoingly spends one weekend every month in training with him as she has done for the last 6 years and has been graced with full permission to teach his Pure Yoga exercises.
Pure Yoga exercises are very simple but incredibly powerful in moving the prana vayus (energy currents) of the body, increasing vitality and usually inducing a state of calm serenity through all aspects of our being.
“Having been a regular practitioner of many different styles of yoga, the exercises I will share with you at our International yoga day celebrations are the ones I will always choose to restore my equilibrium if I feel tired, unwell, stressed, out of balance or disturbed in any way.”
They are easy and accessible to people of all ages and abilities, whether they have any previous yoga experience or not.
We will finish our class with a short but sweet, heart centred meditation to bathe in the serenity we have created through our practice…
Leonie has travelled extensively in India and trained with other Great Masters, including Sri Barfani Dadaji Maharaj who asked her to start this ‘United World Yoga Trust’ project in order to help make yoga wisdom accessible to all; aiding the promotion of peace in this world.

Beginners Yoga with Aziza – 6.30 – 7.25pm, Orgiva…

Aziza has been teaching Yoga for 10 years all over the world, including in Spain, India, Guatemala, Ecuador and has worked on retreats around the world and gives one to one classes and group classes of HATHA YOGA in Orgiva, Spain.
She is gentle, kind and fun teacher and has completed 200 hours RYS yoga training certified at HYV Goa, India. Also trained in Astanga Vinyassa, Yin Yoga, and Hatha at Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram in Chennai.
The beginners class will be suitable for anyone who is new to yoga, or who feels a little “inflexible”, or has been practicing for a little wile but would like to have a bit more information about what they are doing in asanas and about yoga generally. Suitable for everyone, young and old, male and female and all fitness levels. If you are already fairly fit it will help you go deeper in your yoga practice. Ill try to debunk a few very popular misconceptions about yoga myths like “im too inflexible, its boring, its gentle and only for women, you have to be vegetarian etc etc”, I’d love to demystify and inform in a fun informative and gentle way.
Come and give it a try. You might just love it!
